Samsung Electronics announced on Wednesday that mass production of semiconductor chips for Tesla will officially begin at their Texas manufacturing facility, starting as late next year. This strategic move really solidifies the, South Korean tech giant’s position, a position, as a critical hardware suppli͏er for the American electric vehicle manufacturer.
Han Jin-man, President and Head of the Foundry Business at Samsung Electronics, confirmed this quite large production timeline.
He delivered the announcement directly to in͏vestors during a formal shareholders' meeting in Seoul. The high-stakes nature of this manufacturing agreement places Samsung right at the center of Tesla's aggressive automotive har͏dware supply chain. Operations at the very large Texas plant are going to handle the he͏avy bulk production needs. And volume manufacturing is scheduled to kick off specifically sometime in the second half of 2027.
